Spring 2 Newsletter (February – March 2018)

Date: February 22, 2018 Author: Kate Porteous Categories: News, Pre-School Newsletters

Welcome back after the half term break, we hope you have had a fun filled week, and are

looking forward to the term ahead. The children have made lots of new friendships and
extended their play to reflect this, including collaborative role play, reflecting their
experiences and interests. We have noticed the children being very creative and designing
lots of construction models, using various construction sets and also art/craft creations,
involving different tools and techniques. As a result of this we have decided to follow this
interest and the focus for this half term’s topic is “Building, Creating & Designing”.

As it’s still cold and winter weather outside, we politely request that your child’s clothes
match the weather conditions – we spend a lot of time outside! A named, warm and
waterproof coat is needed every day to cover all eventualities! If your child brings wellies,
please ensure that they have another pair of shoes to wear inside.

We have also noticed that some children don’t have a drink in their lunchbox; please can
we encourage a drink to be included as part of a healthy lunch. (We always can provide
one if you forget!)

We would be very grateful if you could save and bring in any small cereal packets, boxes &
bottles for week 4, to help us with our 3D modelling ideas. (Please rinse out bottles before
bringing them in, thanks)
