Nurturing Young Minds

Registered Charity No. 1024056

Lymington Little Dolphins Pre-School has been established since 1992. Little Dolphins is managed by a voluntary committee made up the parents of the children attending the pre-school. We operate from a purpose built community room within Lymington Infants School.

At Little Dolphins we promote a happy, safe and stimulating environment with a focus on ‘Learning through Play’ to unlock every unique child’s potential. We enable each child to be confident, challenged and successful, gaining high self-esteem. We aim to maintain and keep providing high-quality childcare, supporting a natural transition to full-time schooling.

We are a registered early years provider (registered charity number 1024056 and OFSTED number 110069), offering places to children aged 2 years 9 months to school age. We are a community-focused group, predominately serving Lymington and the surrounding areas.

Additionally, we also offer an after school provision from 3pm – 5:30pm for children already attending Little Dolphins and in reception year at Lymington Infants School.

The History of Little Dolphins Pre-School:

Lymington Little Dolphins started in the early 1980s and was previously known as ‘Lymington Playgroup’, our name changed to Lymington Little Dolphins in May 1992.

The original logo of the group was a teddy bear, before it changed to our current logo. Our original setting was within the old school building of Lymington Infants School, which is now the St. Barbe’s Museum. In 1992 the pre-school moved into the community room of the new Infants school building in Avenue Road.

Our sessions have developed with the demand of childcare over the years, originally starting with just 3 morning sessions, to now offering a selection of different sessions over 5 full days.
